It may surprise many to learn that tenants – who are known as ‘occupiers’ under strata legislation – have rights (and responsibilities) in a strata scheme. While occupiers do not get the right to vote, they do have rights in other areas, including accessing body corporate, and they also can have disputes resolved through the Commissioner’s Office.
