Did you know there is only one Body Corporate Commissioner in the world – and for over 5 years, Chris Irons was it?

With an unmatched perspective on the strata sector, Chris Irons is a thought leader for strata issues and dispute resolution. For over 5 years Chris was Queensland’s Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management, the only role of its type in the world. After working for well-known strata law firm Hynes Legal, Chris is now an independent strata consultant and Director of Strata Solve. He helps clients to untangle their strata issues with tailored solutions. Chris brings to the table over a decade of leadership in the Queensland public sector and is a nationally-accredited mediator. He is a frequent media and content contributor on strata issues.

Chris Irons and Ernest

Chris is a Board Director and Senior Vice-President of Strata Community Association (Qld), the peak body for strata. His work on the Board includes responsibility for advocacy to government.

Fun fact: Chris is an occupier in a community titles scheme and has been for several years, in addition to being an owner in a different scheme. So he knows about the vagaries and nuances of strata from all sides. Chris is also a human slave to Ernest, a happily-retired former racing greyhound. Ernest has all necessary strata approvals in place.

There is very little in strata Chris has not seen, heard or experienced. He founded Strata Solve because he wants to achieve a positive difference in the way things operate in the strata sector. Chris is not a lawyer and while he knows that sometimes legal proceedings will be the only way to address a strata situation, he thinks there are often different and better ways to get results.
